Geyikbayırı Cavern
Area: Antalya
In able to get to this cavern, you need to travel to Geyikbayırı village.
This village is about 26 km from Antalya. Go through Çakırlar Köyü, to the
west of Antalya, to come Geyikbayırı village. It takes about 5-10 minutes
walking from the center of the village, to the the cavern.
The Geyikbayırı cavern is very suitable and popular for tourists, since
she have depth of 6.5m and a length of 120m. The cavern is dry in the
summer time, the temperature is about the same as the outside, in the
Autumn season . When it rains, the water levels go up, somewhat, flooding
the floor.
Karain Cavern
Area: Antalya
In able to reach the village of Yağca, you need to travel about 5-6 km
from the old Antalya. which is about 30 km northwest from Antalya.
The cavern is, no doubt, one of Turkey's greatest natural caves . It is as
high of 150m and about 430-450m from sea level. It is dated back to
humanity's early history. This cavern was continuously used by the
early humans during some periods in the history. Thus, this cave hosts a
thick historical layer at depth of 11m. The most dominant period of the
cavern is the Paleolithic period.
The cave has Greek writing and the exterior
walls and ceiling. You can see the archaeological archaism that where
found in Karain Cave, at the Karain and Antalya Museums.
Kocain Cave

Area: Antalya
Going to the Indag Mountain, about 45km north of Antalya, will get you to
the cavern. One way is through the Camiliköy- Karatas- Ahirtas Village
road (Go to the Antalya- Border highway).
The cavern has a wide entrance, with 50-60 m tall pillars, as well as a
Roman cistern inside the cave. The cavern is made by 2 very huge saloons
and have entrance of 35x70m .
Küçükdipsiz Cave
Area: Antalya
This cave can be found next to the Alakaya Hill (About 661m to the slope),
that is not to far from Tünek Tepe.
The length of the cave is 74m, and a deeps of 27.5m. The cave has a
horizontal shape, and a dry climate inside . By past the slim entrance,
and going through the cave, will lead you toward northwest, and at around
slope of 25º, Just before the end of the cave, you will see an increasing
number of stalactites and stalagmites. If you compare the air of the cave
to the outside, you feel it is somewhat chilly when, in comparison to the
open air.
Papazyakası Cave
Area: Antalya
Go to Antalya City Club garden, and take the stairs going down to the sea,
and you will get to the cave.
This cave are only few steps going towards the sea, about 20m from sea
level. The overall length of the cave is 149m. This cave as dry one.
Before you go into the cave, ask if it is open for visit, since its in an
unstable condition. It also has a very small number of stalactite and
stalagmites. It is possible to find Pleistocene periods ruins, around this
cave.
Yerköprü Cavern
Area: Antalya
Cave sizes: total length of the cave is 110m with deeps of 27m with
relation to the cave entrance. Since this cave is almost at sea level, it
can also be refereed to as "marine cave", though the cave is dry. The
floor at the entrance of the cave is partially covered with sea water. The
cave is cooler in comparison to the open air.
Altınbeşik Cave
Area: Antalya, Akseki District
This cave is located at the western slopes of the Manavgat Valley, at a
very steep slope, this cave is sitting in the east of Ürdünlü village. It
about one hour walk from the village to the cave.
This is one of the most breath taking cave in Turkey. The cave is 100m at
its highest point and 2500m in length. The cave is geologically active at
its lower and medium sections, with small lakes around. The upper part is
usually dry, and the temperature is around 16-18ºC with humidity. The cave
is part of a 100km caves complex. It is part of the Kızılova, Kambos and
Söbücesuyu, caves. It ends under the Oruç Sinkhole Cave at the Altınbeşik
- Düdensuyu Cave. Thus, it is one of the longest and largest complexes in
the world wide. Before going in, make sure you know your way around, and
tell someone where you go to.
Gürleyik Cave
Area: Antalya, Akseki
In able to get to the cave, you need to get to Eynir Polje area, that is
roughly at a distance of 13 km from Aydınkent (Ibradi) in northwest. It is
roughly 500m from the road, after Başlar village, at the right side. The
road to the cave is somewhat hard since big limestone blocks the road.
Once you in the cave, you need to go down for about 25m. if you go to the
cave in the spring, you must be more careful, due to the high amount of
water inside. In addition to that, there are sharp limestone shards, on
the cave surface. If you visit the cave in August, it is possible to see
that the water level are falls and small lakes are created.
Kocadüden Cave
Area: Antalya, Akseki
To get the cave, you need to go to the southwest of Akseki Polje. The road
departs from the Akseki-Bucakkışla road at around 4km from the cavern.
The cave slops down 155m like stairs, though it has a leveled part. The
upper make limestone, it is mostly responsible to the cave's
formation. In addition to that, the Akseki Polje river basin, drains into
Koca Düden, which has many lakes in it.
Oruç Düdeni Cave

through Dim creek valley.
The overall length of this cave horizontal and dry, is 357m. You can see
at the end of the cave a small beautiful lake. This cave is one of the
magnificent caverns in Turkey. Since the cave's area is covered with
forests and camping sites, you can plan a “nature meal”. During the
history the cave was used in prehistoric and historic periods for shelter,
it is called by the locals "Gavurini Cave".
Beldibi Cave
Area: Antalya
This cavern is shelter by rocks, and it is situated about 40tkm on the
Antalya Kemer shorelines highway, precisely after the Çamdağ tunnel. It is
not to far from Oba village.
The cave is about 25m of sea level, and it is shaped like a covered
shelter. There are 6 layers with Mesolithic cultures in it.
These cultures looks a lot like the Alizarin, Solitarian and Tardenovasior
cultures in Europe. During the digs in the cave, there was found
Flintstones tools, part of the Upper Paleolithic and Mesolithic. Know that
the cave is an preserved archaeological site, so behave accordingly.
Büyük Dipsiz Cave
Area: Antalya
The cave is 3km west to Antalya's port to the south incline of Alakaya
Hill (around 660m), on the southwest of Tünek Hill.
The cave's temperature, is cooler than open air, and it has a total length
of 40m. And it's deepest point is about 29m. It is mostly a dry cave.
Damlataş Cave
Area: Antalya, Alanya District
This cavern is about 3km from the Alanya's city center.
This cave is somewhat small, with an area of about 200m, a 15m height and
30m in length. Once you in the cave, you will be able to see many
stalactite and stalagmites. It is estimated that these formations where
created around 20.000-15.000 BC.
Derya Cave
Area: Antalya
Go inside Atatürk Park, between Konyaaltı Street and the coast, in order
to get to this cave.
This vertical cave is depth of 35m, with length of 124m. This cave is a
type of "Marine cave" in a sense, since its southern is inside the
sea, with sea water. It is dry none the less. The number of stalagmite and
stalactite is not big. The southern section, has sweet spring water, that
mix with the sea water. The second exit is about 40m west from the main
entrance. It's measurements are: 50cm width and 1m in length.
Çimeniçi Cave
Area: Antalya, Alanya
The cave's location in around Şıhlar (old name Şeyhler) village, east of
Alanya, on the southern side of Cebireas mountain. To get to Şıhlar
village, one needs to use the Konya-Gazipaşa highway to the village. It's
only few minutes from the village to the cave. As with many of the caves,
this one also has some historic remains, with Roman traces around the
cave.
This is a horizontal and dry cave with a 10m length, thanks to the
limestone where the cave is. The air in the cave, is somewhat cooler in
comparison to the open air. It has many chambers in two layers. To go to
the second part of the cave, you need to climb about 60m. This part is 10m
higher than the entrance. It is made of two large rooms. There are pillars
around the rooms, that cover most of the space. Thanks to the natural
formations, with historic remains in the cave's area, it is very
interesting and beautiful cave.
Mahrumçalı Cave
Area: Antalya, Manavgat
To get to the cave, you need to travel to east of Mahrumçalı section, in
the east of Gebecek village, that is northeast of Manavgat.
It is 157m in length and 36m height. In the rainy season, the water flows
inside the cave. The cave is is located in the contacting point of
Cebireis formation and the underneath Mahmutlar formation. The cave is
surrounded by dolomithic limestone.
Peynirdeliği Cave
Area: Antalya, Kemer
In able to visit the cave, you need to go to Gedelme Plateau. Take the
connecting Kemer-Gedelme plateau road. From the village center, it takes
few minutes walk to get to the cave entrance. There are some Byzantium
ruins and a historic wall, about 65m north to the cave.
The deepest point is 19m and 74m in length. It is also dry due to its
location. At the deepest point of the cave, there is a small lake. Inside
the cave, you can see stalactite, stalagmite and pillars. Part of the
cave's attractiveness, is thanks to the combination of the surrounding's
natural loveliness and ancient ruins.
Tilkiler Cave
Area: Antalya
This cave location is in the Oymapınar Dam area, in Manavgat District,
Antalya.
This active cave is about 7m long. In the spring, the water level is
usually rises.
The discovered of the cave was during the construction of the dam. It is
located in a naturally beautiful area.
Sırtlanini Cave
Area: Antalya, Kemer
This horizontal dry cave's are located among Narlıgedik and Yukarı
Çamarası villages. From the villages, it takes about 25 minutes walk, from
Narlıgedik village. It is not to far from the Aphrodisiacs ruins.
The deepest point is 32m and 348m long (Main part 147m). The entrance of
the cave, is narrow for about 5m. The pillars inside the cave, divided the
main hall into 5-6 parts. Stalactite, stalagmite and pillars, can be seen
all over this hall. The humidity in the cave's is around 85%.
Aslanlı (Yaren) Cave
Area: Antalya, Manavgat
To visit this cave, you need to travel to Kirazlı Village Plateau. And
from there to the cave, it takes about 30 minutes walk.
This horizontal vertical dry cave, is about 110m long, and got its name
from one of the stalagmites, that looks like a lion. The cave was formed
in the Mesozoic age, inside dolomithic marble. You need to go 6m down, to
get to the cave. The cave's floor is covered with ruble that fell from the
ceiling . It is mainly rock blocks on muddy ground. You will see
stalactite and stalagmites.
