What is there to buy?
In Antalya, like in other touristy cities in Turkey, you can find a wide range of items. In addition to food and drinks, you can buy in town local and imported textile, in local shops, and or special shops like Calvin Klein, Lacoste and more. If you are looking for an old Kilim Turkish carpet, you need to know few things. If you buy these carpets, and or antiques, know that by the Turkish law (and the Turks are very pedant about the law), it is forbidden to export them out of the country. The same goes for any historical items over 100 years old. If you are buying an old carpet, ask the seller to give you some form of certificate with the carpet/item's age. This way you will not have problem with customs, leaving the country. In addition to the above, it is possible to find certificate jewelry and gold shops. The government's, certificate most hang on the wall. If you are looking fro leather coat and leather items, hand bags, belts and more, Antalya is a good place. You can even find wall clothing, art artifacts, hand made items, and abundantly, in town.

Where can you shop?
One of the best shopping areas is Kaleici, next to the city's walls. Walking by the city walls, will give you a chance to see many items for sell. The spices and foods smells, together with the merchants voices, will make you feel like you went back in time. Three other worthwhile visiting are: Atatürk, Cumhuriyet and Kaleici. Tansas\h center
Tansas\h is one of the largest chine stores in Turkey.
The food floor is characterized with wide range of high quality local and international food merchandise. In the second floor you can find household products, clothing and footwear, electronics, and cosmetics from Turkey and from international brands.
Tansas\h provides also wide staircase lift that used for taking the shopping cart to the second floor. Also as part of the service, Tansash provides for families with children a special shopping car to use it in the shop.

Migros net
This is a Swiss international malls chain, that operates in Turkey, as well. It has over 470 shops in the country. The place has international brands, computer shops, perfumes, shoe ware, cloths and many more.

The Turban Kaleici Marina
It is one of the interesting marinas in Turkey, since it combines old and new, with trees, flowers, shrubs and more. You will find shops selling sea equipment, shoes, international brands, souvenir and cafe shops and restaurants, located in one big center.

Setur Marina
This marina is located about 10km west of Antalya, in a quieter place then Antalya's center. There are few shops for underwater equipment, though you should really come here not just for the shopping itself.

Antalya Covered food market
It's recommended to visit the Antalya food market, in this covered market,  there is complex of about 760 shops and business in area of  480.000m2.
This mega complex including all kind of business places such as: offices, police station, gas station, some bank branches, post office, sport facility, taxi services, and many kind of fruit and vegetable as well as other food shops.

Antalya Bazaar
Visit in the main Antalya bazaar is recommended. The Antalya main bazaar is roof covering. The bazaar has wide verity of products, such  originality handiworks, all kind of jewelry, kinds of Turkish foods, Turkish delight such as Halva, Baklava, Apple tea, Locum, Pines honey, Spices and more.

Also, you can find here many shops of footwear and couture, as well as Turkish leather goods. Local tailors makes repairs, and or a high quality hand made suits and shoes.

 

Shopping Tips - General
Tips for better and safer shopping

Keep your passport and plane tickets on a safe place on you body, or better yet, leave it in the hotel's safe.
Spread your money in few pockets.
Do not “flash” your money all over the place.
Be nice to the merchants you come across. They are people who are trying to make a living, at the end of the day.
Do not haggle just for fun.
If you walk around with children, or with a group, make sure they have the hotel's card, and enough money to get back to the hotel.

Shopping Tips - Turkish antiquities
The Turkish law forbids to exported antiquities that have importance historical cultured over 100 years. Smuggle are punished in the hardware. The regulation is also for ancient carpets and kilims. It is most likely that you will find yourself, with a good fake of something.

The Turkish antiquities laws are valid to every piece of detritus or even every piece of stone. So be very careful and aware, don't pick up anything off the ground at archaeological and historical sites.

Shopping Tips - Word of  caution !
