Road Safety
In Antalya, it seams that stop lights and the crosswalks, are just recommendation. When you cross the street, do not expect the drivers to stop, in order to let you cross the street! Thus, you should really pay attention, especially if you are with little children!

Most of the urban roads are in good condition. But out of the city and in the rural areas around to Antalya, not all the roads are paved. These unpaved roads, are used not just by cares and other means of transportation, but also, by animals, as well. That is why you need to practice safety when driving in these places. You should really drive slowly and carefully.

When driving in the city, know that the top speed is 50 k”ph, and out of the city 90 k”ph. If there is no speed limitation sign, then the legal speed limit is 40 k”ph in the city and the villages. According to the Turkish law, you must use a safety belt in the front and backseat. After this has been said and done, know that most of the Turks, do not use safety belts. When driving, it is advised to always carry your passport, driving licenses, and the car's rental contract.

All road signs, as well as thus of Antalya, are the same as international signs, and the driving is on the right side.

It is forbidden to speak in a cellular phone, while driving without speaker phone in the vehicle.

Driving under the influence of alcohol, over the level of 0.5 percentages of alcohol in the blood, is forbidden.

In case of an accident
In case of an accident, you have to report to the local police station and or the Jandarm, and also to the local authority.

Taxis
Stopping a taxis in Turkey, is like other parts of the world. The tariffs of the journey are calculated by distance. At midnight, the tariffs are doubled, and at times more. It is customary to live tip of about 10-15%.

Dolmuş Turkish mini bus
An other way of commuting is with a Dolmuş. In order to stop a Dolmuş, you wave you hand. You can pay before you get of the Dolmuş. To get of it, just say “Dur Lutfen” (Please stop). It is better to pay with Turkish lira.

Car and Motorcycles rental
In Antalya there are local and international car rental companies. In order to rent a motorized vehicle, you need to have your international driving licenses. Before renting a motorized vehicle, ask to see the insurance for the vehicle you are going to rent. Ask what, and if, there are any other payments after you return the car. As a rule, low cost not necessarily a sign that the place is illegal, but it is worthwhile compare costs. Renting a vehicle through the hotel, cost more than renting in town.

It is possible to fuel the vehicle normal fuel, and also with gas in all stations. Fuel cost is roughly 2$ per liter of fuel, and about 1$ for gas tank.

Most gas stations, offer free car wash service. Out of the city it is possible to find on roads shower like pipes, with running water. It is used to wash and cool the car, and it is free. Some of the gas stations are closed on national holidays.

Renting of bicycle
Another efficient thrifty way to tour Antalya, is bicycle rental. There are some stores that rent out bicycle. Rental cost, moves around 5-7$ daily base. It is recommended to compare prices.
